What People Say

“Rob is so helpful — he knows all the surrounding areas, is always on the other end of the phone, and has a lot of knowledge on the properties. It’s like having a friend rather than just an agent: he tells you the pros and cons, the do’s and don’ts, rather than the usual selling you a dream with hidden cons. I send investors to Rob because he’s not the typical agent who just wants the sale — he’s careful about what you’re actually looking for.”

Refers investors to Rob

“I can highly recommend Rob. He’s helped me with locating land in Thailand, as well as assisting with a number of other overseas property matters. He’s extremely knowledgeable, experienced and genuinely helpful, with excellent and very fast communication throughout. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and he’s always quick to come back with advice or information. A pleasure to deal with and someone I’d happily recommend.”

Questions People Often Ask

Which visa do I need to retire in Thailand?

There are several possible routes, and the right one depends on your age, finances and personal circumstances. I can help you understand the main options and what may suit you, before you take specialist immigration advice where needed.

What if I’m buying with a Thai partner or spouse?

This is one of the most important things to get right. How the property is bought and owned can have major consequences later, particularly if the relationship changes or one partner dies. A friendly conversation at the beginning can help you understand the practical issues, and an independent lawyer should then make sure the legal structure is right for your circumstances.

How much money do I realistically need to retire in Thailand?

That depends very much on where you live and the lifestyle you want. Thailand can offer excellent value, but housing, healthcare, travel and everyday spending vary considerably. We can help you build a realistic picture rather than rely on a generic monthly figure.

Where is the best place in Thailand to retire?

There isn’t one answer. Pattaya and Jomtien, Hua Hin, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Bangkok and other areas all suit different lifestyles and budgets. The important thing is finding the location that works for you, rather than simply choosing the place everybody else recommends.

Can I own property in Thailand when I retire?

Yes. Foreigners can own condos freehold, subject to the foreign ownership quota. Houses, land and leasehold property work differently, so the right ownership structure depends on what you are buying and your circumstances.
